Assigned to the recovery of corrupted visual records following the unexplained disappearance of the previous archive team. My work should be simple: make art, listening to music, document what I find, and preserve the things that slip through the cracks.
Instead, the tapes keep finding me.
My personal collection consists of drawings, photographs, found footage, recordings, unfinished compositions, strange little creatures, and whatever else manages to crawl out of the static. I document what interests me, especially the things that feel wrong in ways I can't quite explain. Some records contain images that were never captured. Some audio files contain music I don't remember composing. A few of my drawings appear to depict places I've never visited.
ARCHIVE WARNING: Prolonged exposure to magnetic tape distortion has begun affecting visual and auditory perception. Faces change between frames. Background figures move when the footage pauses. Familiar songs occasionally contain additional notes that were never played.
If you hear someone playing piano or violin somewhere in the recording, check whether you can actually see the source.
Do not rewind.
Do not answer voices coming from the tape.
And whatever you do, do not look behind you while viewing these records.
